CBEC's headteacher congratulates all of our students who have again secured excellent GCSE results. We are thrilled to report that 55% of Year 11 students passed both English and Maths at grade C or above and that over a third of students passed eight or more subjects at grade C or above. Furthermore, many students secured five or more A/A* grades. Congratulations in this respect go to Fran Bishop (5), Eloise Trowbridge (5), Mohammad Rahman (6), Jade Bryant (6), Aaran Fredriksen (8), Henry Whitby (9) and Chloe Gifford (10). Two students collected straight A/A* which is a fantastic achievement: Rachel Gatfield (6 A*s & 5 As) and Ivana Homerova (10 A*s & 1 A).
Results day is about all of our students and, as such, we also celebrate the achievements of students who do not find learning easy but have made excellent progress throughout their time at Cranbourne as a result of their hard work and commitment. All of these results are the product of many years of commitment from our staff who support our students with great expertise and skill.
We are also delighted with the results for all students in Basingstoke, many of which equal that of the highest achievers across the country. As a group of secondary schools we have worked incredibly hard this year to ensure that our students get the very best teaching and support thus enabling them to have choice about where to go next. The overwhelming majority of students who are now able to go onto the preferred post-16 destination is testament to this commitment and proves how strong secondary education across Basingstoke is.
